Getting Started with N8.Chat
Get your AI-powered chat widget up and running in just 5 minutes. Follow this step-by-step guide to install, configure, and customize N8.Chat.
Prerequisites
- A WordPress site (5.0+) or Shopify store
- Admin access to your site/store
- An n8n account (free or paid)
Create an n8n Account
First, you'll need an n8n account to create workflows for your chat widget.
If you don't already have an n8n account, sign up for a free account at n8n.io
Tip: n8n offers both cloud and self-hosted options. For most users, the cloud version is the easiest way to get started.
Install N8.Chat Plugin
Install the N8.Chat plugin on your WordPress site or Shopify store.
WPWordPress Installation
- 1.Go to
Plugins → Add New - 2.Search for "N8.Chat"
- 3.Click "Install Now" and then "Activate"
SShopify Installation
- 1.Visit the Shopify App Store
- 2.Click "Add App"
- 3.Follow the authorization prompts
Configure Webhook
Connect your n8n workflow to N8.Chat using a webhook URL.
In your n8n workspace, create a new workflow with a Webhook trigger node. Copy the webhook URL and paste it into the N8.Chat settings.

Copy Webhook URL
Copy the production webhook URL from n8n
Paste in N8.Chat Settings
Go to N8.Chat settings and paste the webhook URL

Go Live
Enable the chat widget and start engaging with your customers.
Once you've configured everything, simply toggle the "Enable Chat Widget" switch in the N8.Chat settings. Your chat widget will now appear on your site!

Your chat widget is now live and ready to engage with customers. Test it out by opening your site in a new incognito window.
