Installing N8.Chat on Shopify is incredibly simple. The entire process takes less than 5 minutes, and the chat widget will automatically integrate with your theme.

Installation Steps
Visit the Shopify App Store
Go to the N8.Chat listing on Shopify App Store or search for "N8.Chat" in your Shopify admin under Apps β Shopify App Store

Click Install App
Click the green Install app button. Shopify will redirect you to the app installation page.

Review and Approve Permissions
Shopify will show you the permissions N8.Chat needs. Review them and click Install app to continue.

Complete Installation
After approving permissions, you'll be redirected to the N8.Chat dashboard. The app is now installed and ready to configure!
Success! The chat widget code has been automatically added to your theme. No manual theme editing required.
Permissions Explained
N8.Chat requests the following permissions to provide intelligent, context-aware chat experiences for your customers.
Read Products
Allows the chatbot to access your product catalog to provide accurate product recommendations, answer questions about inventory, and share product details with customers.
Read Orders
Enables order tracking, shipping status updates, and order-related customer support. The chatbot can provide real-time order information when customers ask.
Read Customers
Allows personalized chat experiences based on customer history, previous purchases, and preferences. This helps the chatbot provide relevant recommendations.
Modify Theme
Required to automatically inject the chat widget code into your store's theme. This eliminates the need for manual code editing and ensures the widget works seamlessly.
Read Cart
Enables cart recovery, abandoned cart assistance, and checkout support. The chatbot can help customers complete their purchases and answer cart-related questions.
Privacy & Security
N8.Chat is GDPR compliant and never stores sensitive customer data. All permissions are used solely to enhance the chat experience. You can revoke app access at any time from your Shopify admin.

Automatic Integration
When you install N8.Chat, the app automatically:
- Injects the chat widget script into your theme's
theme.liquidfile - Creates a backup of your theme before making any changes
- Ensures compatibility with all Shopify themes (Dawn, Debut, Brooklyn, etc.)
- Respects theme updates and won't break when you update your theme
Switching Themes?
If you change your Shopify theme after installing N8.Chat, the widget will automatically be added to your new theme. No reinstallation needed!

Access N8.Chat Settings
From your Shopify admin, go to Apps β N8.Chat to open the configuration dashboard.

Testing the Widget
